2007 Skoda Octavia vRS TFSI review from UK and Ireland
"Fantastic value for money if you aren't a badge snob"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only problem has been a slow puncture, which was picked up by the tyre pressure warning system.
General comments?
My 2003 Passat was reliable, economical and comfortable on long journeys. The Octavia shares these qualities, but is a lot more fun to drive.
On a recent trip from Spain to the UK, it achieved 39mpg over 1000 mainly motorway miles. With mixed driving I get about 35mpg.
I can't think of a better value all round car with its excellent performance and practicality. The only downside for me is the road noise from the low profile 17in tyres (Bridgestones). But you can't have everything!
