Sunroof rattles
Front tyre wear quicker than expected
Paint finish badly affected by bird droppings.
Car is quick for the money, but suspension could be stiffer to improve cornering.
Body stiffness could be improved to reduce assorted creaks form doors due to flexing.
Overall package excellent value for money.
I have owned I 1600cc GLXi 1999 octavia for two years now and though I like the car its the small problems that have put me off buying another.
1.air con packed in.
2.drivers door won't lock all doors any more.
3.back electric window mechanism broke.
4.lambda probe faulty
5.speed sensor replaced.
6.annoying creaking when braking round corners.
7.immoboliser light flashes when starting up
8.window wipers won't stop.
9.annoying pause in second gear when accelerating.
A lot of problems really considering only had the car for two years and covered 80000 miles at present.
