Electrical problems with the DSG gearbox. Dealer says it's a common fault with water getting into
engine management system. Skoda know about it and are trying to fix.
Car is really quick, and the gearbox, when OK,it is brilliant and a pleasure to drive.
Averages around 48 mpg, which is a lot better than my 2005 Scenic Auto, which only did about 28mpg.
The cabin very spacious and comfortable.
The heating is really good - turn it on auto and forget it.
Only fault, apart from electrical, is water dripping when the boot is raised.
I have a Skoda Elegance 1.9 TDI bought new in March 2006. Absolutely no problems with it. Dual Climate Control, Alloys etc. Boot space is huge - I carry Band gear with the rear seats folded and in fact it does take an 88-note electronic piano lenghtways. 50 Litres Diesel = + 1200 km. Will change for the estate version next year. Great car.
