1989 Skoda Rapid 136 Coupe review from UK and Ireland
"Woo hoo!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Slipping clutch due to previous owner, a few fueling and carb set-up problems easily sorted, new tyres (front), new brakes (caliper, master cylinder and rear wheel cylinder) after overheating and sudden and complete failure of seals.
General comments?
Huge fun from lift-off oversteer and power oversteer on greasy roads or ice. Cheaper than a 911, not as cheesy as a Beetle, comical fish-tailing. Embarrass more expensive and more powerful machinery with the element of surprise.
I recommend you keep a bag of gravel in the bonnet, and beware oil surges.
