Previous cars (1 x 136 and 1 x 135 ric)
Head gaskets.
Poor carburettors.
Injector on 135 very poor, changed to carb.
New car to me, good condition for an 18 year old car, was poorly modified when purchased, so have:
Fitted ashley grp n exhaust very loud!
K & n air filter.
K & n vent filter.
Chopped front springs.
Bucket seats.
Harnesses.
Will be fitting weber replacement carb cos they are so much smoother.
All the above enhance skoda ownership greatly.
Hi, interested in your review as I have a 1990 136 Rapid I'm in the process of doing up. Can't get hold of a pair of lowering front springs (without parting with 140 quid) so I was wondering if you cut down the suspension on yours and if so how you did it and what you think of the results? Drop me a note if you can - rhyswickham@hydrock.com.
Cheers Rhys.
Hi there, I have a Rapid 136 with lowered springs all round. The previous owner had cut the front springs, and to be honest he couldn't have made a worse decision! Every single tiny bump and the springs would bottom out, which would have eventually wrecked everything had I not sorted it. My advice to you is check ebay and 'jorily skoda' for springs, I got mine for £80...and please for you and your cars sake don't cut your springs!!! This is my first car and I'm only 17, so I gave the car a fair bit of work, but it really sticks well with the springs.
Cheers, Jamie.
