2006 Subaru Forester 2.0 X review from Singapore

General comments?
Great machine, excellent visibility all round. I love the handling and the boxer engine which I MUST have at some point in my life (V8 is next). Isn't too large for parking in the city. Consumption here in Singapore I have averaged 8.8km/litre (city driving always). Rock steady and confident. I also find taxis are kinder to me (last car Mazda 323!). Only negative attribute is the rolling noise when more than 80 kph. Think it's the tyres and perhaps some additional sound insulation may help. Engine is silent with a characteristic induction growl when opening up from 2000rpm. My passengers respond with a WaugH! ( always ). But no boxer sound can be heard as the exhaust is very muffled.
