1997 Subaru Impreza L review from North America
"It's a great car, It drives well and Its reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 280,000mi the O2 sensor died and it was probably the original one but on these cars they are very expensive to replace and at 320,000mi it had to be replaced again with the exhaust pipe because I accidentally drove over a huge rock.
Just service and regular maintenance otherwise.
General comments?
It has the 1.8 which is the smaller engine but its well engineered and has great pickup. Its low to the ground which is a problem on rough roads and on bumps which I can't go fast on because the chassis will easily hit the ground. This car is so reliable it will be hitting 400,000mi very shortly since I do way too much driving. It runs very well and starts right up. It also handles well in snow since its AWD of course. This car will zoom away from zero and any speed under 65, over that it will take more time to speed up its only has small engine.
