1993 Subaru Impreza L review from North America
"What an awesome car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Basically, I can't say that things have gone WRONG with the car... I have just done the maintenance services:
Replaced all brakes.
Replaced CV Joints.
Replaced Rear Strut.
At 55,000 the water pump went out and damaged the timing belt... both were fixed under warranty!
Some kind of heat sensor thing went out about 10,000 miles ago.
The cup holder on this model is in an unfortunate location above the manual shifter... if you like coffee with sugar, some of the drink may get into the shifting mechanism and cause lock ups during cold weather... my brother disabled some part inside the shifting mechanism and now we don't have that problem any more!
General comments?
What a car! My dad advised me to look into Subaru when I was 21... best purchase I could have made. The '93 Impreza is the first of this model and I am astonished at how well this car is doing, both mechanically as well as its paint job and interior appearance as well. I take no caution in recommending this model or make of car! In my opinion it is the ideal car for any woman (or guy), but particularly any woman because they are just so darn reliable!
