2004 Subaru Impreza WRX PPP review from UK and Ireland
"Totally reliable, hassle free performance, with all weather capability"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
Subaru took an already brilliant car and made it better!
The 04MY has better brakes, suspension, interior, headlights, performance etc. Its ability to cover ground in all kinds of weather is amazing. Body control, especially over UK roads, is superb and must be the envy of many manufacturers.
Likewise, it's just as happy trundling around town in traffic, as it is on a full bore run across empty moorland.
The seats don't quite hold you in place as much as the competition type seats of the older Classic type Turbo, or Bug Eye WRX, but then I do find them more comfortable to sit in, as I'm quite broad in the beam!
Running costs are almost cheap now, with the 3 yrs free servicing we recieved when we bought the car (Subaru UK offer).
Fuel consumption's not bad at all, and it's never been as bad as many have made out, especially considering the performance (0-60mph in 4.8 seconds/30-70mph in just over 5.0secs) on offer.
A super friendly dealer and a great service Dept complete the package. Not that the car sees them that much - just for routine servicing.
Well done again Subaru!
