Nothing.
Subaru took an already brilliant car and made it better!
The 04MY has better brakes, suspension, interior, headlights, performance etc. Its ability to cover ground in all kinds of weather is amazing. Body control, especially over UK roads, is superb and must be the envy of many manufacturers.
Likewise, it's just as happy trundling around town in traffic, as it is on a full bore run across empty moorland.
The seats don't quite hold you in place as much as the competition type seats of the older Classic type Turbo, or Bug Eye WRX, but then I do find them more comfortable to sit in, as I'm quite broad in the beam!
Running costs are almost cheap now, with the 3 yrs free servicing we recieved when we bought the car (Subaru UK offer).
Fuel consumption's not bad at all, and it's never been as bad as many have made out, especially considering the performance (0-60mph in 4.8 seconds/30-70mph in just over 5.0secs) on offer.
A super friendly dealer and a great service Dept complete the package. Not that the car sees them that much - just for routine servicing.
Well done again Subaru!
I totaly agree, I own a 54 plate wrx with ppp and I find it a monster performer, even against higher power salloons like M3's its off the mark and gone. I'm not sure what the 0-100 times are, but figres say it beats the FQ 300 to 60 with much less power and is quiker than a standard STi. It's a car that more than the sum of its parts.

Does anyone know the official 0-100 times of the WRX PPP? From personal driving experience's it gets there very quik, the speedo needle does'nt slow down much past 60 in 3rd and 4th, it still pulls very hard.

Prodrive quote 0-100mph in 14.1 seconds.
Cheers.
There's a good clip on 'youtube' demonstrating the acceleration from 50-120 MPH. I'm seriously thinking about getting one of these prodrive WRX's.
OK so I have just bought a 05 WRX PPP 5-door and I don't think I am ever going to be able to drive another car again - this thing is so accomplished: massive power, anti-Newtonian handling and yet I can get the kids, dog etc in and do the school run. Last week I took it down to Manchester from Edinburgh and I was more comfortable in the seats than in either of my previous 540i or CLK 320 - obviously the interior is a different art here, but overall a much more enjoyable place to be. Even with the PPP kit I pay £650 fully comp for the insurance (I am 37). My only complaint is the speakers which sound like a bee inside a buscuit tin, but about £300 for new speakers and head unit should sort that. This car is THE car. It does everything so well, and although I am a Tweedy sort rather than Burberry, I still feel good about the image. Only problem, Subaru - where in God's name do I go from here?! I'll never be able to buy another brand again....
