2001 Subaru Impreza Sport review from UK and Ireland
"Boxer Engine. Beckham Cornering. Mean Machine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing Wrong at all.
General comments?
Absolutely amazing traction AWD vehicle.
Good Acceleration, good high end speed approx 125mph.
Comfortable, but not girlie, fairly plain inside, but all mod cons needed, climate control, elect mirrors and windows, cup holder???, rev counter, spotlights etc.
Handles corners like Beckham!
Only downside is the fuel, but its worth every penny you put in.
Say bye bye to the BMW and Lexus lot and have fun.
Technically the Flat Four Boxer Engine in these Imprezas is wicked, lovely noise, but doesn't like the low revs and will stall on you, will not play if you red line it, been warned by subaru of damage to engine anyway if you do, I have tried driving sedately and it makes no difference to fuel comp whether you hammer it or not. which is good.
