2001 Subaru Legacy gx review from UK and Ireland

What things have gone wrong with the car?
As yet nothing,only owned it for 2 months.
General comments?
I was very surprised at the pace this thing goes, very smooth’ holds the road extremely well, and has a very good build quality.
Two niggles though
1, I find the brakes a little vaig. For something that is this fast and heavy I would expect them to be sharper.
2. Fuel consumption is not good; in fact I am tempted to have the car look at as I find hard to believe this car only does 240- 260 miles per tank. Maybe it’s just me being tight!!
On the positive the car has the magical ‘power’ switch that launches the car from a shore footed, very quick fantastic handling saloon to a very fast beast of a thing
that has left boy racers opened mouthed at the lights (well had to try it did I !!)
The sound the car generates comes from the ‘boxster’ engine set up that has a wonderfully deep throat tone. I could ramble on’ so to the point.
It is a fantastic car; I have the saloon that is very rare if you are thinking about getting one.. Do it! You’re feel you’ve become part of an exclusive club as I have never seen another one, but reading other reviews from around the world via this site I have to agree. Be different and get a legacy.
