1994 Subaru Liberty GX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Good second hand buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radiator split on driver side front of plastic tank 227000km, replaced with locally made unit. Both front drive shaft boots split and drive shafts worn, both required replacement. Repair costs $1300 including parts.
Timing belts replaced at 200,000km.
Alternator has been noisy since buying the car, but is still turning over.
General comments?
Very reliable generally, drives well and is comfortable.
6 Speaker stereo system with tape deck sounds great with an iPod and tape adapter!
Holds the road very well and is a good car with plenty of torque.
The interior is good, though the seats can be a bit uncomfortable on long trips and the carpet on the driver's side is worn badly under the pedals.
For an eleven year old car it is still going strong. If I could afford a new Subaru I would not hesitate to by one.
