1993 Subaru Loyale review from North America
"So far... soooo good"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter (well at least I hope it's the starter hah) has just started to go at 42000.
Guy I bought it from said he has recharged the A/C.
Put new front tires on it, along with front brakes at about 30000.
Replaced muffler at about 40000.
General comments?
So far so good; reliable, cheap, easy to work on, decent mileage, more trunk room than you'd expect, and it has an impressive list of features.
I was recently rear ended. I barely felt it and the Lexus had a headlight in its engine (hooray for all metal construction).
This car got me through an icy Massachusetts shore winter with very reasonable handling and no moisture problems.
I'm a big guy (6'2") and I'm very comfortable in the car, even on long trips.
Biggest problem with this car has been RUST, especially under the car. Though as I mentioned, I do live on the coast and the salt hurts especially on the old all metal cars.
Great first car, last car, safe car, or something of that nature. I'm not trying to get anywhere fast and I've got no need to look flashy, so I'm lovin' this car. However with a three speed auto and a 1.8L, it's not for everyone.
