1992 Subaru Loyale 2WD 4 Door Sedan review from North America
"A good, reliable, affordable, will never die, bargain!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Only regular maintenaince items, outside of CV Boots, which rotted. And altenator.
General comments?
The sedan model only came in 2WD for 1992. I would have purchased 4WD or AWD if it was available.
This was my second Subaru. The first was a 1996 XT Turbo, which saved my life in a high-speed collision.
Subaru offers a product of superior quality. I have owned my Subaru for almost 13 years. I paid $17,000 CDN and have not spent anything for any major repairs. I almost bought a Jetta at that time for a little cheaper - I am glad I didn't. I see more Loyale's from this time on the road than I ever do the Jetta's.
It's not the prettiest of cars, but it is definitely reliable and cheap to run. I will probably drive this car into the ground, or when the body rots off completely. When that time comes, I will definitely buy another Subaru.
