Just a quick note to readers I am a subaru tech and if you have a subaru that overheats it is more than likely head gaskets it would be wise to have them checked BEFORE changing the normal parts ie (water pump, thermostat, radiator ect) it is very comon on the 2.5 engine due to a flaw in the gasket.
Subaru are the best. I could not live without one. That is the car I had for my entire life. So people who are looking for a Subaru, BUY IT! You will not waste a lot of money. Promise me, like I said I had one for over 30 years.
Did you buy the car from a junk yard?
1986 Subaru GL-10, Went to the junk yard after a 1986 Honda Accord hit me. I was waiting on a traffic light. The Honda had the kinetic energy and the damage to my car was supposed to be bigger. But it wasn't. I got out of my car. The firemen had to cut the Honda, because the driver was trapped inside. That was in 1996.
1992 Subaru Legacy Turbo wagon - both it used after an accident with problems in the transmission. After 3 years the transmission gave up.
1997 Subaru Legacy Outback - Bought new; up and running.
2000 Subaru Impreza Outback - Bought new; still running despite my son's driving.
2009 Subaru Outback SE - 2 weeks ago. My wife gets this one (of course)
Somebody comments " If Honda had AWD..." Well, it does not. And with that high rev low torque engines and stopping distance of a truck...
