2002 Subaru Outback review from North America
"Good luvin gone bad"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My head gasket is leaking oil very badly. "the worst we have ever seen" says the independent Subaru specialty shop manager, and his crew.
It has been gently driven, for the last 50k+ miles, and has had no problems otherwise. a great, dependable awd car... and now an extra $$2500 for faulty factory gaskets?
HAH!
Sign me up for litigation.
General comments?
I called the local dealership. they asked for the VIN to check the recall list (after I mentioned it) and informed me I was not a 'lucky one'. I then called corporate (1-800-subaru3) and got a very snooty lil man who simply reiterated what the dealer said, then got angry when I asked for an explanation. I am now to have the dealer examine it... but for what? another explanation that it is perfectly normal to repair its most important gaskets long before 1/2 of the cars' lifespan is up?
