2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara review from North America
"A good buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I haven't had any problems with the car, with the exception of a flat tire at about 1,000 miles, not Suzuki's fault. The spare was easy to access and a breeze to change.
General comments?
My first new car and I love it. I worked in a Suzuki/Chrysler service department and was looking at all the cars to see what had to most problems before choosing my car. The grand vitara rarely had any major problems, and the most common, (front cover oil leak) is covered under a very good powertrain warranty, with a $0 deductable. Most of the issues I saw with these vehicles was due to lack of maintenance. Even with the lack of maintenance it was sometimes shocking how well the Vitara held up! As for me, I'll maintain my car and drive it for the next fifteen years. The gas mileage isn't as good as I would like, but considering the price, warranty, and overall quality of the car, I'll live.
