2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 review from North America
"All in all I am happy with this car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
On my 2004 Grand Vitara,23,000 miles, the little green light on the air conditioner button is blinking. If I am counting the 'blinks' correctly, I am counting 14 blinks. The A/C light will blink 14 times then stay solid for about 3 - 5 minutes then blink for another 14 times. I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me what problems the 14 blinks are signaling. (the dealer says to keep driving it) The air conditioner is still working fine, and actually I feel it is blowing out plenty of cold air to keep me cool in the Ohio summer heat & humidity. But this blinking light is causing me some concern. The check engine light is not on. So far I have not had any problems with this car, but I will keep a watch on the timing chain and door trim issue as stated in other owners comments.
General comments?
I am fairly happy with this car.
I currently take weekend trips with this car. Around town this car is easy to drive, see out of, park, haul things, and I love the stereo system. Now on the highway, I think the windshield and front door windows should be tinted more, the door panels could be molded better to better rest your arm on the door pull ledge, I wish the sun visor would have an extension on it to block the sun that is coming thru the drivers side window or better yet have a sun visor that could block the sun from the windsheild and side window at the same time. Also, driving at 70 mph, the engine is running at almost 3000 rpm. When I drive my car, Grand Am V6 at 70 mph, it runs at around 2000 rpm. Would a lower rpm help the gas mileage?
