I bought a 2004 Verona in January 08. So far, I have needed a new wiper motor, the ABS light needed to be shut off, I needed a new throttle body, a ball joint on the passenger rear tire, new tires, and new wiring in the engine. Yesterday, the check engine light came back on again. The car stalls, then gets fixed for a couple weeks, then craps out again. I am seriously looking into either trading it out or suing someone. By the way, the car only has 52,000 miles on it. Ridicoulous. I ignored all the poor reviews when I bought it. DON'T. I will never buy a Suzuki again!

I bought an '04 Suzuki Verona 2 years ago in '06. I really liked the way the layout was, and the convenience of everything.

I had the car 2 months and the throttle body went. They replaced that, and within 2 weeks the wiper motor got messed up.

Now my check engine light is on and off, and I have the same problem of it accelerating and then not getting any power. I can't trade it in because I owe too much. It has 60,000 miles on it. I wish I could get rid of it but I am stuck with it.

I called the Suzuki place and they said they have never heard of the car accelerating and losing power before. I would like for them to take the car back big time. I drive my grandchildren around, and have never been scared to drive a car before now.

I am a 2004 Suzuki Verona Owner. I bought it in "USED" condition at a dealer in FL. It had 49000 miles with custom exhaust. Two months after, the engine warning light came on. I tested with the tester in the shop. It was the catalyze converter sensor. I think it is the exhaust problem that cause the problem. I did nothing to it. The car ran just fine.

After I had for about a year and half. I decided to move to San Diego, CA with my friend. Me and my friend drove 51 hours without stopping. After we arrived, we decided to take a trip to LA, suddenly, there was a loud engine noise. I immediately pull over and it stalled. The car was tow to the nearest Suzuki depot. I believed it was the result of non-stop long trip.

They did the diagnostic and there were metal shavings at the oil pan. The engine need to be placed. The Verona was at 70800 miles at the time of repair. It still under Suzuki’s 7 years/100,000 miles warranty. The dealer asked for the maintenance records of oil changes. They need that for the approval of the warranty.

OMG, I don't have to records of any kind, and I am not the original owner. But the Suzuki really care about its customer, they give me an option to take of the engine block to inspect the valve cover for slug. If slug is not present in the valve cover, they maybe able to cover it.

I did the gamble of 200 dollars on addition valve cover removal. But it pay off, it is clean. This proves that I did all oil change properly. This morning, the service department called me said the Suzuki had approved the repair under warranty. Even the diagnostic and valve cover inspection will also been waived.

I don’t have to pay a cent.

Thanks Suzuki.

They are replacing it for you because they know that the Verona's are CRAP and they want to avoid a lawsuit.

I posted back in August of 2008 about my purchase of a 2004 Suzuki Forenza with the same problems. After repeated request for the Suzuki area manager to call me after opening a case file with American Suzuki Corp, he has refused to return my call. The dealership could not duplicate the stall, so the operator that opened my case file said there was nothing that Suzuki could do.

I now have a law suit against the Suzuki corporation because of their defective and hazard's Forenza. The Forenza has been parked in my driveway for several months because I will not let anyone drive it for fear of someone being seriously injured.

American Suzuki Corporation should be ashamed of themselves for allowing these defective vehicles to stay on the road.

We bought a 04 Verona new and its been the worse car

I have ever owned. It does the jerk like most others say,

the wipers are messed up now. 70k The car is dangerous the way it does not accelerate from a stop. The check engine lite is always on from the gas cap. I will never own another.

I purchased a new Suzuki Verona EX in 2004. I really love the car, the looks, the heated leather seats and the sun roof.

I did have the radio/CD package replaced as it kept cutting out shortly after purchasing the car.

About a year after purchase, the lower side molding paint started peeling off, so the dealership replaced the lower side molding. I now have 70 thousand miles on the car and they just replaced both front wheel bearings, as the engine and steering light came on and this was the fix. They also replaced a switch as the brake light came on.

I have a new engine head on order as the engine is using about a quart of oil every 1500 miles. The Suzuki dealership has been great here in Washington State. The car looks like new, so quite and the handling is great, it really does corners fast.

Everything has been fixed for free. I also purchased a bumper to bumper 100,000 mile warranty.

This is my second Suzuki the first being a Suzuki Swift which I traded in at 60,000 miles for the Verona. I never had any problem with the Suzuki Swift it was a great car. Anyway I must have a good Verona, It sure is better than the 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan EX I have, which has had $8000 dollars of repair work performed.

Hey I made the mistake of also buying an 04 Verona back in August of 07. I unfortunately didn't have the warranty except the powertrain warranty.

Right now I have a $9,000 dust collector sitting in front of my house with two clogged catalytic converters and a misfiring cylinder (that happens to have a brand new coil pack on it). Would somebody be able to tell me how to go about getting rid of this piece of crap car other than blowing it sky high?

If so please shoot me an email @ coopja@hotmail.com

Bought my 2004 Verona Ex January 2008.

The first problem was I would be driving and gradually the speed would drop to 35 mph, and I could not get it to above that even with the accelerator pressed to the floor. It was intermittent and I finally told the service manger to have one of his mechanics drive it for a week or whatever time it took for him to experience it. Bottom line, it happened, and as I had told them, it was a transmission problem and it was replaced for free.

This month July 2009 a new issue, after driving for 5 to 8 miles at 55 mph the steering wheel started to shake and eventually the brakes fully applied by themselves without me ever touching the brake pedal. They replaced the brake caliper and hose and I still have the issue. I took it to my mechanic and it's to the point that they can't figure it out. I'll be going back to the dealer this week to see what they have to say.

Oh yes the check engine light is on all the time. (I did remove the ABS fuse and it did not solve the problem.) My guess, a heat issue that is causing the brake fluid to expand and this is causing the brakes to gradually set. We will see. I'll post when and if they find the problem.

WOW, I can’t believe there are that many highly troublesome Veronas out there.

I now have some trouble with the check engine light coming on with the same code over and over, even though the sensors have all been replaced. But this is the first time it ever acted up. It has 118000 miles on it and never saw the dealer except for the free oil changes. All maintenance work is done by myself. Did replace one coil pack and both front wheel bearings, installed new rotors and ceramic brake pads at 45000, and they're still good.

Sorry for all the folks that have trouble making Veronas, all I wanted to find out was if anyone had this code (slow response bank 1) repeated times, even with a new 02 sensor?

I purchase my Verona new in 04. First week I had it the battery died and was replaced. All three of the rear seat belts had to be replaced. I've had it in the shop six times for the driver side window. They finally replaced the motor and it now goes up and down. In 2008 I had the check engine light go on, and when I took it to the dealership, I was told the engine was toast. They offered to purchase the car from me for $8000. The alternative was to put a new engine in covered under warranty.

I decided to have the new engine put in. The car only has 33,000 miles on it and they said I need new brakes already.

I love the looks and style and extras like heated leather seats, but can't believe the engine went before I hit 25,000.
