1987 Toyota 4Runner review from North America
"The best thing ever built"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The radiator went out.
Due to rough use, the timing chain. Which is just routine maintenance.
The inside is perfect. Seats hold up after constant use after 22 years.
General comments?
If you do not have one, get one. This car has put everything it has come in contact with to shame.
It does great on beach, and will drive by full size trucks like the 4runner is on pavement.
It is light, which makes off road great. Have been mudding in this for about 3 years now, and have had no problems. although I did back into my mail box; not the car's fault.
The car is wonderful. I would not trade it for anything. It has been in my family for 3 generations and we will not let it go.
