1999 Toyota 4Runner SR5 review from Guatemala
"A keeper"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had to replace shock absorbers in both front and rear axles.
Rear power window elevator broken, easily fixed by dealer.
General comments?
The vehicles handles very well, and takes ditches and potholes very smoothly, since the chassis is particularly narrow, but long, maneuvering it is very simple, but you must be careful to avoid rolling over.
The engine responds every time, and even if you are already in fifth gear, the engine will respond to acceleration, but again, you must be careful on rough surfaces when speeding, or else, the tail will start waging all over the road.
Interior is not as roomy as expected on an SUV, but still comfortable enough for a 1.75mts tall person. Cargo space is very good.
The car feels very solid, and there are no noises or loose parts. Mileage is optimal.
