1995 Toyota 4Runner SR-5 4x4 review from North America
"The most reliable beast I have ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing! Not a thing! The only "problem" that I can think of, and it's not really considered a problem, is the clamps that hold the catalytic converter rusted-off and needed re-welding ($15). I mean this car is extremely tough built, literally bullet-proof. What do you expect from Toyota quality? That's why Lexus are such excellent cars.
General comments?
Car needs some more power from its 3.0 V-6, 1996+ models got a meatier engine.
Excellent 4x4 capabilities, never seen anything like it in the snow and mud.
Even at such high mileage, car doesn't idle rough at stop lights like most trucks and 4x4's with similar mileage.
HUGE exterior, good luck washing this puppy.
Pretty cramped interior for those sitting in the back seats.
GAS GUZZLER!!
Fine use of interior material, such as soft plastics, fine carpeting, and upholstery.
BIG TIRES GET YOU NOTICED FAST!!
Fairly comfortable ride.
I can see traffic real far from how high I'm sitting in this car, and I have not raised it or anything.
Still not cheap to buy.
