1993 Toyota 4Runner SRS review from North America
"I think the 1993 4runner is a reliable vehicle both off road and on road."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I purchased the 4Runner, I bought
it As Is, which meant that I purchased
it with no warranty. I had to have all
the fuel injectors replaced. The
previous owner replaced the engine, so
I think he installed the injectors
from the old engine on the.
replacement. I had to have the ball
joints replaced.
I had to have new sensors and solenoids put in the transmission. I also had to replace the rear axle because the gear oil leaked out. The front driver seat is worn on one side. I had to replace the front shocks.
General comments?
I like my 4runner because it is not too big like a Suburban or too small. I hate the way the 93 4runners are raised in the front and low in the back, but I love the option that I have to lower the front as low as I want by adjusting the bolts under it. However, it burns a lot of oil. I thought it was a problem with the engine, but the owner's manual reported to expect oil consumption.
The engine makes a tapping noise when I get to a certain speed, but someone said it was only the valves tapping. I love my 4runner and I will have it forever.
