"Best SUV ever-made"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Replaced starter motor at 100000km

Fuel gauge gives wrong reading

Check engine light came on because of faulty TPS, I

replaced it, but after 1000kms it came back on.

General comments?

I love this truck, Had it for 3 years now and still runs and sounds very good, Just had some minor problems, but no biggie although its kind of costly maintaining it, but that's the cost of looking good and driving a beautiful truck. It has 133000kms on it and still I haven't change the timing belt which is not a good move, but they say technically its still alright, but for preventive measures, It needs to be replaced, bottom line 4runners are the best SUV's out there.

I have had 3 Toyota 4Runners, two with V6 and the latest one a 4 cylinder. The 1990 V6 was by far the best. I sold it 3 years ago and got a 1995 4 Runner. Just before I sold it, the water pump died. I opted to replace it myself (not a pleasant job). When I took the front of the engine apart, I noticed the timing belt was original!! This vehicle had 370,000 kms, had had the cylinder heads replaced, but not the timing belt. I probably should have replaced it at this point, but the repair was running late into the night and I figured if it got this far why not leave well enough alone! I still see the vehicle on the streets and wonder if it will ever die!!Take care of your 4 Runner and it will last FOREVER.
