1985 Toyota 4x4 from North America - Comments

"I've cried everyday since I sold it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I had some problems with head gaskets and aluminum heads.

Other than that, typical wear was it.

General comments?

Most dependable vehicle I've ever known.

The four wheel drive would go everywhere. The only time my dad got it stuck was because he didn't have both hubs locked in.

Help!!! I'm looking at an 86' toyota 4x4 4cyl. The engine is rebuilt with approx 60'000 miles and I was wondering is the four cyl gonna have little power or does it pull its weight really good and also is the drive terrain gonna give me lots of trouble. Things like ball joints and cv joints and if so is it gonna take a lot of money to do it myself to fix those things. I would appreciate it if you would help me Write me back at Macdaddy04@hotmail.com I appreciate your help make sure to put a subject 86' Toyota thanks.

Anybody worrying about replacing parts on a mid 80s Toyota should know, that other than the rust problems, these have proven time and time again to be the most reliable and some of the easiest and cheapest trucks to work on.

You will NOT be disappointed if you ride a Yota.
