2006 Toyota AYGO + review from UK and Ireland

The car, albeit very basic, is not bad for in town use. Has fantastic economy, cheap road tax and is nice and simple to drive and control.

Motorways, although possible, are not the best places for these little beasts. They suffer badly from wind turbulence at speed and cross winds can be slightly frightening.

Around town, it's nippy, slighly noisy, but generally comfortable. There is enough space to fit 4 adults in for short trips, but long distance would be a bit cramped I'd imagine.

The boot is very small, but again, for every day use it's not too bad and there is always the rear seats to put shopping on if the boot is slightly too small.

The Aygo + has an uprated audio system with 6 speakers and a CD player with MP3 capability, you can connect an Ipod to it as well so it's pretty good on that side.

Safety wise they all come with ABS and Brake Assist as standard and a couple of air bags (4 in total) to keep it all safe. Remote central locking comes on Aygo + and Sport models.

The car is not slow, it does move quite well, but struggles about 65mph, but once wound up it will sit on 80-85mph all day if needed to.

Generally, for the money it's not too bad, there's not many brand new cars you can buy for the price and get some of the equiptment you get on this so what it may lack in ride quality it makes up for in safety and convienience.

Definatly a good choice for the person who only makes short trips to the shops or takes the kids to school. An excellent second car.
