"My first Camry and won't be my last"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Only problems that I have had are normal maintenance issues. I had to replace the two front tires about a month ago. The car is in need of a set of front brake pads (20 dollars at the parts store). I did have an accident in the car. It did very well in the accident and I did the repairs myself. The cost of the parts was very cheap on Ebay. All in all I love this car because I got it at a really good price with very low miles. I plan on keeping it well past 100k miles.

General comments?

This is a very easy to drive and comfortable car.

Just wait another year... if your luck was like mine, it will be your last Toyota. I also owned a 96 and had so many problems I traded it in on a 2003 Impala and have not had a single problem with the Chevy to date! Next time use a little foresight and buy a GM or Ford product!

Well I still have the Camry and replaced the two back tires, got a front end alignment, and replaced the brake pads. I currently have 72000 miles and have had no big problems. I drive a lot for work so I have been very happy with this car. I am going to have the timing belt replaced before 80k miles and should probably do a tune-up as I have noticed my gas mileage has been steadily dropping ever since I got it. I still average 25 mpg between city/hwy driving. The car does have one strange issue which has been pretty minor... if you start the car and drive a short distance then turn it off... it has a tendency to start, but then stall. All I have had to do is give it a little gas and then it runs normal. As I said this only happens a half dozen times a year so it's pretty minor and it has never left me stranded. I am also going to replace the battery next summer as I don't know how old the current battery is and I don't want to trust it another winter. When this car gets around 125k miles I will get rid of it and probably buy another used Camry. I have installed a trailer hitch on the car and use it to haul all kinds of stuff... nothing really heavy, but it makes those trips to home depot a lot easier and the trailer I bought from Harbor Freight comes in extremely handy. If I can when I am ready to buy another car I will look for the same year camry with low miles as I have to say this is one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned.
