1988 Toyota Camry LE review from North America
"Great starter car, or a car for a student"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission solenoid
Alternator
Power steering pump
Battery
Power window wires
Driver side door lock pins stuck open = almost all keys open that door
Key broke off in the ignition, most keys start it
rusted, trim and chrome slowly falling off,
General comments?
This car is unbreakable, I'm 16 and I abuse this car; dropping the car into drive at 6000 can be done, and the transmission does not fall out on the ground surprisingly.
Tire's are bald, "drifts" amazingly with a tap of the e brake.
Can keep up with stock Preludes and Integras.
Great starter car; bought a write off for 300$, have never had to buy a part.
Never failed in the harsh Saskatchewan winter after sitting outside for the day in -40 weather.
Not the greatest for working under the hood, power steering pump was a battle to remove,
fenders have around 30 bolts, in the tightest most inconvenient places.
