1998 Toyota Camry LE review from North America

Plastic door handle broke, got it fixed for about 100.00; having a small problem with driver side window, if overused it will not go up. I therefore use it as little as possible. It still works though, going on 6 months. Struts poor.

I bought this car in February 2001, three years old at time of purchase (1998 Model). Currently it is November of 2007, almost 10 years. Over this time I had to take this car in for repairs "zero" times. You must exclude the little petty things like, plastic door handles and window motors. The real test is will this car take you from point A to point B or will you be stuck on side of the road with your thumb out. I did not believe the seller when she told me this car will last me so long, I dismissed her comments as just someone who wanted her commission. However I will list a couple of things that I did not like however overall, I cannot complain. The struts are bad, but I have driven on them for over a year. Make sure you change your timing belt, I did at 90,00 miles and all the engine noise stopped. Make sure you do a total Transmission Oil flush, keep your car running smooth. And your 3-5,ooo miles oil change. I grade myself at a "C" on maintenance, but the car has performed at an A+ especially considering its almost 10 years old at 160,000 miles.
