1998 Toyota Camry LX review from North America
"Great quality, reliable, low maintenance cost vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing major was wrong with the car when purchased or since I have owned it.
General comments?
The car drives like it is new. V6 is peppy. Starts easily, hard to tell the engine is running because the interior is so quiet while stopped and while on the highway. Suspension seems to be fine, though I have not carried a passenger load to date. The interior room is great, much roomier than my 1991 Camry. Stock sound system (Cassette) is OK- not great sound. I do believe my 91 Camry to be of a higher quality build, however, this car is still good quality. All power door locks/windows and moonroof work flawlessly. Little quality issues I have noticeded are:
- Gas cap access door does not pop open when releasd (Release lever works OK- door has a problem)
- Center console release latch is broken
- Had to replace a rear brake light that I did not notice was burned out when I purchased the car (A warning light on the instrument cluster will indicate this problem).
