"The best car for the money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Changed alternator after 150.000 miles.

Timing belt at 100.000 miles.

Struts at 110.000 miles.

Head lights every 2 years.

Brakes after 5 years.

General comments?

This car is really great, it has never let me down.

When I bought the car from the Toyota dealer, it had 54000 miles.

I changed the oil to Amsoil synthetic 0/30 grade. And now I change it once a year or 25000 miles.

The engine is running like new, and never needs oil. Plus I get about 32 mpg around town. Passes inspection like a new car.

Good for you, and good luck with the Camry. I agree, they are excellent cars. I drove one for many years in South Africa, where they are still quite common. The Johannesburg high-way patrol ran several Camrys in the late nineties. I honestly could not fault my Camry, which was a company vehicle, used on very long runs, often with a 1 tonne trailer hooked up. A timeless shape, which still looks good in any modern car park. See you in the fast lane!
