"Great second hand car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Indicator electrical failure.

Air conditioner needed upgrade and re-gassing.

Front struts needed replacement (expensive).

New tyres.

Fan speed resistor burnt out and needed replacing.

General comments?

It has had a share of problems, but for its age they are limited.

Power is good for a 4-cylinder engine and the fuel economy is pretty good.

The interior has plenty of room for a full car load of passengers.

Design may not be exciting, but Toyota is all about good value for good quality vehicles.

Top buy for a family with limited finances.

I own a 1988 SV21 Camry CSI. Bought the car in 1998,in Brisbane.

Mileage was 123000.I think it was a good buy.

Since purchase date, a new auto box (slightly modified) and regular log book services, the car just keeps going. December 04, now mileage reads 235600kls.

Alterations to car include, Lowered 35mm all round, larger sway bars. Two and a half inch Exhaust system, Commodore Catalytic Converter, but a Standard Muffler at the rear. Port and Polished Heads, with Factory Headers. I played around with some electtrcal chips (not sure could be samboy) Goes good, fuel ech. over 650 ks to a tank, can go Brisbane to Rockhampton on a tank of fuel at speeds ranging between 100 to 115. If any faster the fuel econ, reduces quite quickly. Around the city driving, average 600 to a tank.

If I put the foot down, leaving a youngster at the lights in his hotted up u-buet wheels, I feel I"ve a V8 UNDER THE BONNET. The fuel tank drops at an alarming rate.

I would buy another one, SV21, But it would be a v6.

I'm what the youngsters say, over the hill, or as my daughter says "I'm an old fart" Yep that's me. A 58yr old hoon.

I enjoy watching the faces of youngsters drop, after you slow down, so they can catch up and pass.

Milton.
