"300,000+ miles, and still running like new!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong with this car.

General comments?

This car is a god sent gift from heaven. Long live Toyota and their great company. This 1988 Toyota Camry has gotten me to St. Louis and back home every day for the last 5 years WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS! Its well over 300000 miles, and still running strong. I reccommend this car and any other car made by Toyota! I'm so pleased with this car.

Camry's were made in Japan till 1992. Anything not made in Japan is not as good in quality.

I too am privileged to own a 1988 Toyota Camry LE. In just three more oil changes, I will turn the odometer over to 300,000 miles. I have never had one problem with this car. It is the most reliable car I have ever owned. This is the third Japanese car I have had (the other two were 1984 Nissan Maximas) that I have achieved 300K miles. This little Camry still gets 36 on the highway and 34 in town which is better than the Maxis ever did.

I have a 1988 Toyota Camry Wagon. Only 60,000 miles on it! Motor runs great! My only complaint is the transmission. Had to have a solenoid replaced. After that it was fine till now. My OD light on the dash blinks on and off after about half an hour on the highway. Still runs good, but the light drives me crazy and I don't know what it means!!!

I have a 1988 camry, 370,000 KM.

And this car can do 160 KM/HR on the highway, or even up to 190 KM /Hr.

Toyota engines are amazing.
