What things have gone wrong with the car?

Left and right front Struts.

Left and right front Struts mount.

Black smoke coming out of muffler when car first start.

All gasket and seals from engine blew and needed replacement.

Passenger seat belt broke, needed replacement.

General comments?

Everything is going wrong with the car.

I have spent over $2,000. on just the engine.

Things just didn't stop from there.

Now the passenger seat belt doesn't roll back in place anymore.

The strut mounts and struts it self are making noise.

I wonder if some of your repairs should have been fixed under warranty. There is a sludge problem in 1997 - 2002 Camry's and some other Toyota models that share the same engine. The sludge can build up and cause engine failure. Toyota came out with a special policy to repair engine sludge for 8 years from the date of original purchase, unlimited miles. This applies to even second hand buyers. All you need to do is show that you maintained the car. Toyota has accepted receipts for one oil change per year as proof of adequate maintenance. If you already paid for repairs, you can be reimbursed your costs plus any incidental expenses such as rental cars. Call Toyota customer service if you think this could apply to you.
