1998 Toyota Camry LE review from North America
"A comfortable, reliable, affordable, classy automobile"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I just got my 1998 Toyota Camry, and it needed new tires... they look like they haven't been replaced at all, but the car's at 90000 miles, so there's nothing surprising about it needing new tires.
There's some discoloration on the trim on the inside of the car around the power door locks and power window buttons and near the radio...I've seen this instance in two different models of the Toyota Camry (a 1997, and my 1998).
There is a slight clunking noise when I hit bumps...can't tell if it's coming from the front or the rear. Don't know what would be making it do that.
General comments?
The 1998 Toyota Camry LE is a very nice car.
It is very smooth on even bumpy roads.
Has a quick/powerful engine (3.0L DOHC 24-valve V6)
Has stylish looks, and the comfort level of a luxury car (if it's not considered one itself).
Alarm system is fantastic & works very well.
The stock speakers and CD player leave something to be desired, however.
