1998 Toyota Camry review from Turkey

I am the third owner of the car, and although the odometer was showing 160,000 km when I bought, it was in a very good looking condition. I had shown the car to an authorized service before buying: it was found perfect in the Toyota's so called A160 test (for used cars), except front seat heaters and headlamp motors (which were not functioning). Everything was fine, and almost to the factory standards from cylinder compression ratios to motor sound, and vibrations.

The both problems I have faced during last 20,000 kilometers is with the odometer: it has initialized two times while running with speeds over 100 km per hour. Now I know the mileage by adding on the previous figures.

There is a second issue, but I am not sure if it is a failure or should be accepted as normal: the cruise control is quite stable over 120 km/h, but under 100 km/h the deviation is something around plus 10 km and minus 5 km.

I recommend this car to those who want to feel reliability and comfort on the road.

This is not a car designed to race, or make very quick attacks as expected from sport cars. Easy control, stable on the road, quiet.

In this car there is nothing more than enough, and there is nothing missing than expected from a comfortable car.

I only would share the opinion of those users who comment as the seats are not holding the person from slightly slipping during sharp turns.
