1994 Toyota Camry LE review from North America
"Reliability incarnate. Looks great, too!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver's side door lock stopped working this year.
ABS brake actuator stopped working last year, causing the ABS warning light to stay on all the time.
Driver's side window comes off the track slightly when putting the window up. This creates a lot of wind noise at higher speeds.
Tires lost pressure and needed to be resealed many times when the car was in Ontario. It may have been due to the cold winters or the salt used on the roads.
General comments?
The Camry is a dream to drive, both in performance and comfort. After ten years, the V6 engine is still has a lot of pep.
The car is unbelievably reliable. There has never been a major problem, and even the minor problems are few and far between. I have only paid for regular maintenance and to replace worn out components (brakes, spark plugs, timing belt, etc...)
The transmission is becoming a bit rougher, particularly when going from reverse to drive.
I've had such a positive experience with the Camry and my previous Tercel that I'm having second thoughts about buying anything, but a Toyota for my next car.
