What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing.

General comments?

I am here to answer the long lost question of Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry. Since I have driven both for at least 20000km, I feel that it is my duty.

Interior: The Toyota Camry wins in my book in this category, however only because of space and comfort. There is more rear seat room in the Camry then the Accord and it is safe to say the same in terms of trunk space. The seats are both graded equal in comfort terms, but the Camry has less wind noise and is better insulated from outside intrusions. The Accord is also quiet, but not so much. The accords suspension makes for a firmer ride when compared to the Camry's more supple luxurious ride. Also there were far less rattles in my Camry then there were in my Accord. I found the knobs on the radio of the accord a bit not to my liking. Sporty drivers might prefer the Accord over the Camry in this category.

Exterior:

The Camry's exterior is often described as "boring", however I found the look to be rather elegant in contrast to the bubbly approach of the accord. When coming towards you the Camry resembles a lot to its ES300 sibling, and I got more heads turned in the Camry possibly as a result of this. The Accord, again looks to be aimed more towards sporty drivers in terms of styling, and the Camry, well, to wanna be rich people.

Engine:

The Accord wins in this category, but only in the V6 form. Smoothness is about equal however power is dramatically higher then that of the Camry. sound sporty anyone?

Overall:

The Toyota Camry is in my opinion the better choice for families, for its larger interior space and trunk as well as a softer, quieter ride is the ideal road trip companion. The Accord might be preferable to smaller younger families, but personally I see the Camry as the lexus of the midsize sedan category and the accord between sporty and family like.

If you have a family who likes road trips and comfortable ride, then you can't get any better then the Camry, however if you rather feel some G forces the accord might be worth a look (or the Altima), but I am the more lexus type so the Camry wins in my book only because it is far more spacious and comfortable.

Car reviewers and magazines often choose the accord as number one in family mainstream mid size sedan comparisons, yet the Camry is a far better family hauler then the Accord and I think that the "sporty" nature of most professional tester and reviewers leaves room for Bias when it comes to making the choice.

Don't know about the "long-lost" part, but Camry is more refined than Honda in many ways. Think the Camry like the good old Buick and you know what it's like... Have fun!

Own a 2003 le,27,000 miles. No problems at all. I previously owned a vw Jetta and sometimes I miss the the cool interior and sporty looks of the Jetta but not the constant expensive repair bills.

Back to my Camry. Looks good, rides good, very reliable. Yes is a bit boring to drive and Toyota could have have done more with the dash design and layout, but if you, re looking for a dependable car this your vehicle.
