1987 Toyota Camry review from North America
"Hope Toyota keeps building this kind of quality"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Other than the expected tune-up, the car has cost me nothing. The transmission has the slip between 2nd and 3rd, and even with a new filter and fluid the outcome was the same. So I live with the occasionally sloppy shift. The starter has just started to do the grinding, maybe once every 3 weeks.
General comments?
The car has been in Ontario all it's life. The previous owner was kind enough to oil it every year religiously. This has saved the car from being biodegradable. The body is silver and in beautiful shape. I can't believe this car is almost 20 years old. The ride is more plush than my 1992 Camry. Comfortable for long trips and basic with the DX trim. The trunk is huge and great for 2 hockey bags. I am considering selling the car to pick up a corolla, just hope the ride isn't compromised. Fuel mileage is incredible especially using the cruise control.
