1992 Toyota Camry LE review from North America
"A sick burnout machine, would be better with a V6"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission started shifting harshly at 155,000 goes through all the gears it just jerks a bit when shifting.
Axless replaced at 160,000.
Complete tune up at 165,000.
Starter rebuilt at 170,000.
Rocker and quarter panels replaced at 172,000.
Will eventually require a radiator, thermostat, and a brake job.
General comments?
I got this car for free as a gift from a family member so I'm not gonna complain it has never left me stranded and has never failed to start rite up despite the fact than I drive the snot out of it.
Toyota knows how to build a car does not shake, rattle, or vibrate even at 170 kph it feels like your doing 70.
Poor acceleration though the car lags like crazy until about 3000 rpm then she winds right up (kind of like a Turbo lol), traced this problem to a huge build up of carbon in the head also smokes when you start it up in the morning goes away after 10 to 15 seconds this comes from the previous owners lack of general maintenance, I've maintained her quite well.
