1997 Toyota Camry xl review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rack and pinion gave out at 40k. Water pump leaked at 50k too. Front-end has been knocking and rattling ever since 50k miles. Funny enough, when the outside air temp hits 68 degrees or more the suspension knocking and rattling subsides... go figure.
General comments?
Not the best styling. Overall the vehicle is fairly reliable. Would still like to see Toyota acknowledge and honor fixes for suspension "knocking" repairs since we all (I bet about several million of us nationwide) share similar problem. I'm pretty sure Toyota let that this one "escape" out the back door and hoped they wouldn't be called on the carpet for it.
