Best car I ever owned! Other than the very few and very minor problems I experienced above (which were relatively cheap to fix) I completely loved it. My parents bought it new and when they were ready to buy a new Camry I bought this one. The car was completely reliable. I wish I still had it. I kept it until I had my son and then decided I wanted an SUV. BIG MISTAKE.. I traded it for a Jeep. I wish I had my Camry back. The Jeep has been nothing, but one big headache. The Camry was awesome on gas mileage, and had lots of get up and go. It was a comfortable ride, and trust me I did some traveling. Took me through many many States several times over. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who is considering purchasing one, it will be well worth the money.
I also had a 92 Toyota Camry it was a very reliable car when I had it, but I had to sell it so I started driving my parents 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee it guzzled gas and the Differential was very noisy and recently developed a leak. So I gave it back to my parents before something happened to it and went ahead and bought a 96 Camry although I agree with the guy who wrote the last comment it isn't a very powerful car (I4) but it isn't a race car if I wanted that I would have bought a car ment for speed, but since I needed something with great gas mileage and dependability the Toyota Camry was the way to go.
Why is it that the domestic crowd has to come in here and attack every Toyota post good or bad! What was the first commenter thinking??? Should I go out and buy an Oldsmobile Cutlass? Ford Taurus? You know sir buying a Ford Mustang V8, Chevrolet Corvette, or Dodge Viper RT-10 is not practical for everyone to buy for their families and consequently because of the big three's blunders the new big three out of Japan have the answer to that problem with cars: it is called a reliable mid sized sedan... no it is not a 300C that gets bad mileage... no it's an economy car that has enough power to get you through your day and to get you to point B from A while achieving 27-35 mpg's. It has non offensive styling that in my opinion look better than any body cladded GM car or snort covered Dodge rental car... does Ford make cars anymore? Oh yes their new Prelude/94 Accord midsize sedan. I could go on and on, but the truth of the matter is that Toyota is rising in demand and is looking to unseat GM soon... so more people are jealous. Chrysler is looking for a new owner... and Ford is losing a lot of money a minute. Do the math and I think I'd rather have that 92 Camry or 07 Camry than that Ford Taurus or Cutlass you think is so much more cool than the Camry.
I have owned a 1992 4 cylinder Camry since it was new, and it has been the absolute best car I have ever owned, and I have purchased cars since 1966. I now use it as a second car. It is white, and still has the original paint and looks great. It costs me almost nothing (other than routine maintenance). Even the A/C still works (and I live in Canada where its tough on cars in winter); no visible rust. Starts, even in dead winter. It was and still is a real keeper. Great car, but I bet they never build them this good again.
