1996 Toyota Cavalier review from Australia and New Zealand

I Bought this car a couple of weeks ago for only $3800 (AUS). The horn didn't work so I fitted a new wiring from the horn to the centre console (near the handbrake) with a button its completely legal.

The Drivers side power window only has enough power to go half way up, but I sprayed on some window lube and it goes all the way up sometimes (better than before).

The Drivers side central locking button on the door doesn't unlock when you press it. (havn't fixed this not really a big deal)

Apart from all that, everything else works fine.

It's pretty powerful for a 2.4L is what all my mates say.

I've only dragged a old skool done-up Commodore at the moment and burnt him 5 times at 5 set of lights.

The brakes have to be pressed hard to brake for small obstacles.

I think I might need new suspension because it drives hard.

Went up to 160kms easily over hills and easily avoided a crash, so it's a pretty good car.

But this car won't be able to handle hard cornering, that's why I want to lower it heaps.

It's a great car for driving around at night because it looks better the way the lights a positioned etc. It sort of looks like a Nissan 200SX from the front.
