1991 Toyota Celica GTi 16v review from UK and Ireland
"Great sporty little car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Number plate bulb.
2 new wiper blades.
Central locking only works from passenger side.
Windows rattle sometimes and sound fragile when they are fully wound down.
New back box required.
Oil change/filter and spark plug change has improved fuel economy.
General comments?
I purchased this car for £500 without a lot of knowledge or background info, but I took the chance as I've always thought it's a nice looking car, the 2.0 twin cam engine is very responsive and really goes some when you put your foot down. I recently purchased some 7th gen alloys which gives it a much more sporty look. Handling is also very good in all types of weather.
The Cabin is in good condition and everything works as it should, it's a very comfortable drive, even on long journeys where there it just seems to glide along effortlessly, the fuel consumption I am greatly impressed with, careful driving or booting it a bit still returns very good MPG.
I've now had this car for just coming up to 7 months and I have had no repairs that have needed doing, its only been to a garage when they carried out the MoT where it passed fine with a couple of minor advisories such as a slightly bold tyre and a chip in the windscreen.
