1991 Toyota Celica GT-FOUR RC review from North America
"Wicked car to drive, and awesome looking car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Coil and distributor cap went.
Timing belt shredded.
Radiator blew open.
Clutch went.
Firewall cracked where the steering rack was bolted onto it.
Head gasket and valve cover gasket are weak, need replacing, they leak some oil.
General comments?
The car is an amazing rally machine, pulls real hard for being 18 years old. The AWD helps so much in the snow, and in the rain; it's a blast to drive in both conditions as well.
It gives a solid feeling like it's bolted to the ground. Exhaust note is so low and awesome sounding, sounds like a after market exhaust at idle, but 4k rpm and over, all you hear is the engine noise.
The head gasket is getting weak, the car is losing its compression, so it doesn't pull as hard anymore. Overall great car to look at and to drive.
