The exhaust blew at 75,000 miles.
Radiator blew due to anti freeze being too old.
Heater matirx had to be replaced (expensive)
This was one of my dream cars and to own it at 17 was amazing.
This car easily keeps up with Subaru's and Cosworth's and is a lot rarer. It also has the potential to be a lot faster than it is in standard form.
The Carlos Sainz is definitely the best of the GT4'S and with the right alloys really looks like a rally car I chose to put 17" Speedline alloys on it in white to match the colour of the car.
The car was very reliable and would always start first time, a bit steep on fuel consumption, but that was probably due to being on full boost most of the time :)
Overall this was an amazing car and will always be one of my favourite cars, I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a car that's reliable, good looking, fast and highly tunable.
I agree with your opinion. The ST185 GT-Four is the best Celica ever. I owned a '93 GT-Four All-trac (US version), and the GT-Four Carlos Sainz is my dream car. Few problems were overheating, A/C, sunroof, and power aerial, but overall it's a very reliable sports car. Drive carefully, keep the GT-Four alive, it's getting rarer.
I have just recently acquired a Carlos Sainz Celica, and it's incredible to say the least. Fair enough it has a few little modifications, but I can still appreciate how this was one of the greats in its prime.
