1988 Toyota Celica GT Coupe review from North America
"Reliable, fun, gas saver, and sporty."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought this car in 1998 the next year the radiator went bad. I replaced it for $350.
After about 118k miles on it, the timing belt broke and had to be replaced. That cost me about $325.
I also replaced the CV boot and right axle for around $300.
After all those repairs. It has been a very reliable car. The Only repairs made after those, were general maintenance repairs.
General comments?
I've been driving this car for 6 years now and I still love it.
I've had the fuel injectors cleaned, added
a custom exhaust, and a KN air filter. All of these minor modifications, really boost the engine's performance.
If you have a tail gaiter behind you on the freeway and you down shift out of overdrive.Soon that person will be far behind you!
This car can go from 60 mph to 100 mph
very quickly, and handles great even at
110 mph!
It's been a fun 6 years with my Celica.
But now it's time for a change, and I'll definitely miss this car when I buy my 2nd one.
