1974 Toyota Celica GT from North America - Comments

"Everywhere I went with the car, people stopped, looked and always asked questions."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing has really gone wrong with the car in the 30 years I owned it, I always was on top of maintenance and if a problem started, it was fixed before it got terminal.

Could of used some more power in the motor.

General comments?

The car went through whatever I put it through, from age 17 to 47. It also was wrecked a few times, but like Frankenstein it was recreated and alive and well.

It was an incredible 1st car and I am going to keep it until I croak.

This was my first Toyota. Mine was a 76 Yellow with black pinstripping though with a 20R engine. Lasted till I was broadsided by an red light runner. I was lucky I was alive, but I missed that car. She was beautiful and reliable. I overheated her on the freeway too young at the time to know anything about car, but she ran and ran...till I was able to change the waterpump due to shotted bearings and thermostat after the overheating event. That was about it.

This was the car that started me into Toyota till I bought a poorly designed 86.5 Supra later. The Supra taught me the fallibility of Toyota thru a ill conceived head gasket.
