1994 Toyota Corolla Wagon review from North America
"Reliable and extremely roomy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The interior door handles on the passenger side both broke off in my hand.
The rear-view mirror recently stopped adjusting for night driving, and now just hangs in one position.
I seem to wear the brake pads out once per year, but I do live in the mountains.
I just replaced the struts at 160K and 14 years old. There continues to be a peculiar bump noise under the driver side that may be related to the axle or strut, but the mechanic couldn't find it.
General comments?
This car is extremely reliable. It is 15 years old and just keeps kicking.
The wagon is very roomy. The backseat can seat 3, but is not comfy for long for more than 2 adults. The seats are comfortable for long trips.
It doesn't zoom up the mountains, but it can certainly make it. It regularly averages 30mpg, even in the mountains and in-town driving.
You won't believe the cargo space. I recently bought a 5 cubic ft. freezer and could fit it in the back of the car with the hatch closed and half of the back seat down.
